Welcome to my SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker review.
According to Search Engine Journal, nearly half of all marketers say that organic traffic has the best return on investment out of all marketing channels.
Ranking your website in the top search engine results pages (SERPs) is a complex process. You must optimize your website, create content with relevant keywords, and build high-quality links.
But how do you know what you’re doing works? Well, you need to keep track of your website’s rankings.
And that is where SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker jumps in to save the day.
Rank Tracker is a part of SEO PowerSuite, one of the most popular and affordable SEO software platforms. It is a powerful rank tracker tool used by agencies and professionals to make monitoring your site’s rankings easy and fast.
Is the tool as good as its reputation, or is it just another SEO software that fails to live up to expectations? I decided to find out in this comprehensive SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker review.
What Is SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker?
Before diving head-first into the platform discussion and its features, we first need to define the term “rank tracking.”
Rank tracking refers to monitoring a website’s position or specific pages in search engine results for target keywords. It helps to measure the visibility and performance of a website in search engines and make informed decisions to improve SEO efforts.
Basically, it is a process that allows you to measure how effective—or not—your optimization effects have been.
To track your rankings, you need to choose a search engine to focus on, select keywords you plan to target, and optimize your webpage or blog post accordingly. Once you start ranking for your target keywords, you can see if they deliver the traffic, conversions, and revenue you want.
As the name suggests, Rank Tracker is a tool specifically designed to help you track how well your website performs on search engines. From a single dashboard, you can do all the necessary things required to keep track of your rankings:
- Keyword research.
- Competition analysis.
- Google, Yahoo, and Bing SERP tracking.
As mentioned earlier, the Rank Tracker is part of an SEO PowerSuite package from Link-Assistant, a digital marketing software developer based in Lithuania. The company has been in the game for nearly two decades.
They have seen nearly the entire history of Google’s algorithm updates. Not only have they survived, but they have also managed to help millions of users and thousands of SEO agencies succeed in the ever-changing digital marketing world.
Who Is Rank Tracker For?
Are you a website manager? A small business owner? Or are you an SEO agency offering SEO services to your clients? If any of the above is true, Rank Tracker is a tool that might help you in the long run.
At this point, the effectiveness of SEO should not even be discussed. But I still will. To get your website discovered, you need to optimize it in accordance with Google’s guidelines. What will ranking high get you?
Well, according to Terakeet research, a couple of things, including:
- More than 12X return on your marketing investments.
- Customer acquisition costs reduced by almost 90%.
- Increased value of your business by nearly 430%.
Now, doing SEO at a high level is not cheap. It requires one to invest time and money into their website’s optimization. While some SEO tools require thousands of dollars monthly, Rank Tracker will do an excellent job for you for a lot less. When it comes to value for money, other SEO tools don’t even come close.
So if you are looking for a budget-friendly yet effective solution, Rank Tracker should be on your list. But how hard is it to use?
If you are new to the SEO game, overly-complicated dashboards with numerous metrics and analytics can look intimidating. Luckily, SEO PowerSuite is known for being one of the most user-friendly SEO toolsets out there.
SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker Review: Top Features
Analyzing your competitors, picking suitable keyword ideas, and following your search engine results rankings are all part of the package. But that is far from everything Rank Tracker has to offer.
Although the list of features the Rank Tracker offers is pretty extensive, its ease of use and affordability make it a good fit for most SEO needs. Let’s look at some of the more stand-out features the tool offers.
Rank Tracking
We should start with their most obvious feature—rank tracking. The main feature makes following site ranks seamless. With smooth visuals, helpful alerts, Google Analytics and Google Search Console integrations, keyword difficulty, and comprehensive reports, you can ensure no ranking opportunity is missed.
What data matters most to you? Is it CTR? Visibility? The number of impressions or target keywords you are tracking? You can use the SEO PowerSuite feature to customize your reports fully, so you can easily understand the data you are receiving.
It helps you see how your website ranks in different markets, regions, and on different devices. That is an important feature, especially if you are running a local business and targeting a specific group of people.
Keyword Map
It also features a keyword map with different tables to analyze, including:
- SEO Analysis
- Keyword Difficulty
- PPC Analysis
- Rank Analysis
The keyword difficulty section is handy because you can check the SERPs for your target keyword and compare different metrics with your competitors:
- Page Strength
- Page InLink Rank
- Domain InLink Rank
- Domains Linking to Page
- Domains Linking to Site
If you’re using other SEO tools and see different values for these metrics, don’t worry. Each tool has its own crawler and variables, so it’s normal for different software to show different results.
For example, at the time of this writing, Rank Tracker shows my website has 846 linking domains while Ahrefs has 1.4k. The secret of using these rank tracker tools is not to let all those stats consume your attention and detract you from what’s important—creating quality content.
Other details Rank Tracker gives you insight include visibility score for your pages and entire website. You can even see how many times your keywords have been choked over the last month. All of that data can be used differently, depending on your team’s needs.
Keyword Ranking
Besides following your SERP rankings, Rank Tracker offers an extensive keyword ranking feature. It gives you a summary of the top 1,000 organic keywords your site is ranking on Google, Yahoo, or any other search engine for that matter.
Checking keyword rankings might allow you to see that you are ranking for some high-traffic, low-competition keywords. With that information, you can publish new content around those keywords, increasing your organic search engine ranking even further.
Keyword Research
If you know anything about SEO, you know that keyword research is not a one-and-done deal. It requires continual tweaking and optimization—especially if you want to stay ahead of your competition.
The Keyword Research feature allows users to look for ranking opportunities continuously, do strategic keyword research, and stay on top of industry trends.
The tool analyzes your website and displays the keywords you are ranking for. It also displays metrics, such number of searches, estimated organic traffic, competition, CPC, and keyword difficulty.
It’s strange that Rank Tracker estimates my organic traffic to be 1.2k when at the writing of this review, it’s almost 30k, according to Google Analytics.
Rank Tracker’s keyword tool is not the most powerful keyword research tool on the market. It cannot compete with the likes of Ahrefs and Semrush. So if you are specifically looking for a keyword research tool, the above alternatives will do a better job. Nonetheless, it’s an excellent tool for checking your keyword positions and competitor keyword gaps.
Keyword Gap
Keyword Gap is one of the coolest features of Rank Tracker. It allows you to make a competitor analysis of overlapping keywords.
You can choose to display:
- Your keywords (only your site).
- Common keywords (your site and any competitor).
- Common keywords (your site and all competitors).
- Competitor keywords (any competitor but not your site).
- Competitor keywords (all competitors but not your site).
- All keywords.
When selecting the competitor keywords, Rank Tracker shows you all the keywords your competitor is ranking for and appearing in the top 10 Google search results (and you don’t). This way, you can focus on improving your existing content related to those keywords to help you improve your rankings.
Keyword Planner
Those running ad campaigns will be delighted to find out that the tool supports Google Ads Keyword Planner integration and Yandex Wordstat. Plus, the keyword research tool gives you insight into the average cost-per-click for each keyword.
This feature helps you collect new ideas from keyword suggestions.
Related Searches
Using the Related Searches feature, you can gather search ideas related to your target keywords that show up on the SERPs along with other results.
You may use these related searches to create more comprehensive content around a subject.
Keyword Sandbox
The Keyword Sandbox is the place where Rank Tracker stores all your discovered keywords.
It compiles the information you’ve gathered via the research and gives you the following options:
- Organize all the discovered keywords in one location for later usage or a deeper study.
- Group keywords together.
- Control the keyword map.
- Pick the keywords that will improve your SEO.
SERP Analysis
With Rank Tracker, you also get access to the SERP feature that analyzes the top organic ranking pages in search engines. Analyzing the competitors’ strengths and weaknesses can provide valuable insight and help you tweak your SEO strategy.
To use the SERP Analysis feature, enter your keyword into the text box and choose your preferred search engine. Then, hit the “Analyze” button.
The results will tell you how hard or easy it is to rank for that specific keyword. You can assess this by checking the top website’s metrics, such as Domain InLink Rank and Page InLink Rank.
Pro Tip: Imagine you have a newly created website. Your above metrics will be very low. Finding a keyword where some of the top-ranked pages have low metrics indicates that you have a strong likelihood of ranking for that keyword as well. On the other hand, if all the top-ranking domains have high Domain InLink Rank, it will be harder for you to rank.
Competitor Research
Regarding researching your opponents, with Rank Tracker, you can identify your top competitors, see who they are, and check what they are up to in terms of keyword research. There are two sub-features that allow you to do this:
- Domain Competitors – The feature will show you all the websites that compete with yours. That way, you can compare your SEO campaigns and adjust them according to your opponents’ efforts.
- Topic Competitors – Targeting specific keywords means covering topics your competitors are already targeting. The feature helps you monitor their efforts, so you can make sure to adjust yours accordingly.
- Top Pages – It displays your competitors’ top pages by organic traffic. This feature is inaccurate, as my Google Analytics data doesn’t match Rank Tracker’s top pages and traffic. However, it’s pretty close.
All the information you get from analyzing your top competitors can automatically be compiled and displayed in easy-to-digest graphs. A graph will display the traffic of an analyzed website, the number of unique keywords it is ranking for, and the difficulty of outranking it.
Search Engine Support
Now, let us get into one of the most interesting aspects of Rank Tracker—the tool’s search engine support. While many similar tools support only Google, Rank Tracker supports search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and Yandex too.
And just because you are ranking on one of these search engines, it does not mean you are not losing out on potential traffic.
You see, different search engines have different algorithms and user bases. Samsung smartphones, for example, come pre-installed with Bing, so ranking on Google will not necessarily help you in that case.
To make sure you are taking full advantage of each search engine’s user base, Rank Tracker allows you to track your rankings on multiple engines at once.
Location and Device Support
The new consumers know what they want, when they want it, and how to get it. Many consumers use their mobile devices to look up local businesses before they purchase something.
So if you are a business owner looking to target local customers, you must ensure your website is optimized for mobile devices. That’s where Rank Tracker and its extra features come in handy.
People who use smartphones differ from the ones who use tablets and desktops. Some prefer to search for specific items, while others are just browsing. And different locations have different competition levels.
By tracking your rankings from these specific locations, you can adjust your SEO campaigns to be more successful in that area. You can even point to a neighborhood in your city if you wish. That’s how special the Rank Tracker feature is.
PPC Savings
Rank Tracker can help you save your budget if you are leveraging PPC (pay-per-click) campaigns. You see, the rank tracking tool can identify the keywords that are already bringing you organic traffic.
That way, you do not have to waste your budget on keywords already working for you. Instead, you can invest that money into content marketing or link-building campaigns, increasing traffic.
It is like a free bonus—you get two-for-one. You can keep building on your organic traffic while saving up on PPC.
SEO Rank Tracker Pricing
What is a tool worth if it is way overpriced? Luckily, the entire SEO PowerSuite is one of the most cost-effective solutions on the market. If you want to use standalone tools, they are even more affordable.
For instance, if you want to use the basic version of Rank Tracker, you do not have to pay a dime.
There are three options for Rank Tracker users.
- Free – The free version gives users access to limited features and allows them to track a single competitor. You can use the tool for as long as you want; however, you can’t save progresses.
- Professional ($149/year) – The Professional plan will cost you $149 per year. In addition to the basic features, it allows you to track five competitors, save every project you work on, and set up SEO tasks.
- Enterprise ($349/year) – The Enterprise plan is a bit more costly, but it gives you access to every feature Rank Tracker offers. You can now track an unlimited number of competitors and save as many projects as you want for $349 per year.
Rank Tracker Pros and Cons
To give an objective view of any product, you cannot just talk about the positive sides. You also need to say a few things about the negative ones as well. That’s why it is essential to look at Rank Tracker from every angle.
So, in this Rank Tracker review, let’s see the main advantages and disadvantages of the software.
Rank Tracker Pros
- The tool offers many amazing features, such as keyword ranking, SERP analysis, competitor research, and more.
- It supports multiple search engines, locations, and devices, which is excellent for local businesses. You can save money by identifying the keywords that are already bringing in organic traffic.
- Compared to other SEO tools, Rank Tracker offers a very low price for the same features.
- You can filter and sort all data according to different metrics. There is also the option to compare two or more competitors side by side.
- You can see which page on your website ranks for which keyword. And that will give you an idea of which pages to focus on when optimizing for SEO.
Rank Tracker Cons
- There is no social media analytics feature, which can be a bummer for website managers looking for a comprehensive tool.
- Organic traffic may not be consistent with your Google Analytics data.
- Pulling the ranking and keyword data actually takes a long time. If you have a lot of keywords and pages, it can take more than 20 minutes to get your results. And if you have a slow internet connection, it can even take longer.
How to Install Rank Tracker
To install Rank Tracker, you need not be a tech expert. All you have to do is follow a few simple steps:
- Head to Link-Assistant.com, look for the Rank Tracker tab, enter your name and email address, and download the software.
- Install the Rank Tracker software. The downloader package will ask you if you want to download the other SEO PowerSuite tools, such as SEO SpyGlass, WebSite Auditor, and LinkAssistant.
- Before linking your website, you need to select the search engines you are looking to rank on. Think about your target audience. Where do they search for your type of product or service?
- Next, link your website and select the type of tracking you want to do.
- Finally, add your competitor websites, SERP history tracking, keywords, and more.
Once you are done with all of this, you can start tracking your website position. You can also schedule ranking checks so you do not have to run them manually each time.
