FlexClip is an online video editor that makes it easy for anyone to create professional-looking videos in minutes. It’s a tool with no learning curve, excellent for creating engaging video content for professional or personal use.

But what sets FlexClip apart from other video editors? That’s what we’ll learn in the FlexClip review.

By reviewing FlexClip, you’ll better understand:

  • What FlexClip is.
  • Its features.
  • The pricing structure.
  • What I like and dislike about the software.
  • And more.

What is FlexClip?

FlexClip

Trusted by renowned brands worldwide, such as Google, Facebook, Visa, and Windows, FlexClip makes the process of creating and editing videos a lot easier.

You don’t have to purchase expensive video editing software to be able to make different types of video content for your needs. Video making has become much easier thanks to FlexClip’s video editing tools.

Here are some of the videos you can make using FlexClip:

  • Marketing videos.
  • Promotional videos.
  • Tutorials.
  • Invitations.
  • YouTube introductions.
  • Trailers.
  • Personal videos like anniversaries, weddings, and more.
  • Slideshows.
  • Social media videos for Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and more.
  • And many more.

Its built-in screen recorder makes creating tutorial lessons or training videos on a particular subject easier. And with its millions of stock assets, such as royalty-free music, images, photos, and videos, you will not lack any creative power.

And thanks to the QR code scanner, you can even upload assets from your mobile phone.

The FlexClip video maker allows anyone to create professional videos, regardless of their skill level. And if you ever find yourself at a dead end, they have many articles to help you.

You can even start creating a free video with no commitments.

I’ll start this FlexClip review by taking a look at FlexClip’s complete features.

FlexClip Complete Features

Templates

FlexClip provides numerous templates for every need, including business, promos, weddings, trailers, FlexClip intro & outro, real estate, corporate, birthdays, memorials, and many more. Choose the one you prefer and begin modifying it to meet your needs.

What’s more, you can create your own templates and share them anytime.

Timeline & Storyboard

When starting a new project, you may select from two modes: timeline or storyboard.

For those who prefer to visualize all their assets, choosing the timeline mode is the best choice.

Video Trimmer

FlexClip trim video

The FlexClip video trimmer allows you to cut any video clip to your desired length. Whether you need to shorten it to comply with social media requirements, this tool lets you trim, preview, and adjust your video until it is the ideal length.

Another way to trim the video is to adjust the length of the clip in the timeline. You only have to click on the border of the clip and slide it until your desired length.

The video trimmer supports the most popular video formats—MOV, MP4, M4V, and WebM. Thanks to its real-time preview, you’ll be able to spot any details before exporting it.

Video Merger

Merging multiple video clips or images into one couldn’t be easier with FlexClip.

FlexClip merge videos

You can upload your videos or images to the FlexClip dashboard and drag them to the timeline. And if you need to adjust the length of a specific clip, just trim it. You can also rearrange them and embellish your final video by applying transitions between each clip.

Split Video

FlexClip split video

If you have a lengthy video and wish to separate it into smaller clips, FlexClip can help you. Just right-click the clip you want to split and hit “Split.” You can then adjust the length of the newly created clips to match your desired duration.

Splitting a video is handy for uploading a video file to social media. For example, Instagram only allows reels up to 60 sec. By splitting your videos with FlexClip, you can repurpose your YouTube videos to multiple social media platforms.

Photo to Video

You may have a large collection of photos you’d like to turn into a video. With FlexClip, that’s possible.

FlexClip photo to video converter allows anyone to make a photo slideshow without needing advanced design skills. It not only converts photographs into videos in a matter of minutes, but it also offers options for adding music and text to enhance your video.

FlexClip accepts the most popular image formats, such as JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, ICO, SVG, and WEBP.

Creating a photo slideshow with FlexClip is easy.

  • Upload your photos or images.
  • Drag them to the timeline.
  • Adjust the length of each image with the mouse.
  • Add transitions, text, watermark, and background music if you like.

Video Transition

Transitions are a great way to add a creative touch to your videos.

FlexClip transition feature

When you have two consecutive clips in the timeline, you’ll notice a link between the two, as shown in the image above. If you click on it, several types of transitions will be displayed. Just click on your favorite transition, adjust its length or other settings, and it’s done.

FlexClip transitions come in different categories:

  • Overlays.
  • Fade in/out.
  • Zoom.
  • Blur & warp.
  • Presentation.
  • Stylize.

Video Speed

FlexClip video speed

FlexClip offers another cool feature: Speed.

You can adjust it between 0.2x and 8x and add that personal creative touch to your videos. You only have to select the clip you want to change speed and side the Speed cursor until you reach your desired result.

Video Watermark & Logo

FlexClip allows you to add a watermark to your videos to protect them from copyright issues.

You can create your watermark with text, icons, images, or even add your logo. The tool offers additional customization features, such as size, opacity, position, and more.

Watermarking your videos not only protects you from unrestricted use but also expands your brand awareness. This will help people recognize your content anytime they watch it.

Moreover, FlexClip offers a Branding section where you can upload your logo and text. It lets you position it on one of the screen’s four corners, allowing for further customization like opacity, size, font family, and color.

Video Zoom

FlexClip offers a simple method to zoom in and out of videos as necessary.

FlexClip zoom feature

Regardless of your level of expertise, you may quickly and easily adjust the precise zoom setting for your videos. You can use it to crop out the irrelevant parts of the image or center the video.

You can move the zoom slider from 5% to 200% without any trouble. Additionally, you may apply the change to all scenes with one click.

And if you opt for a large zoom out, you can alter the scene’s background color so that your image or video floats amid your chosen color.

Video Rotation

FlexClip transform and rotate video

With the FlexClip video editing features, you can easily rotate your videos or images as you like. Just click on Transform above the preview window and select your preferred rotation.

You have two options in FlexClip for rotating your video: clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. Simply click the Rotate Left/Right button to obtain the desired video in either landscape or portrait orientation.

Additionally, you can flip the video horizontally or vertically.

Adjust Video

FlexClip adjust clip

FlexClip allows you to adjust many image settings easily and apply them to the selected clip or the whole project.

With this feature, you can adjust:

  • Exposure.
  • Contrast.
  • Brightness.
  • Temperature.
  • Tint.
  • Saturation.
  • Highlights.
  • Shadows.
  • Vignette.

Simply choose the appropriate component and move the slider until it is in the ideal position.

Video Filters

FlexClip video filter features

Your video creation might look better thanks to the excellent selection of video filters offered by FlexClip. You may quickly see a preview of the video after applying a filter.

Choose from different presets, such as black and white, vintage, sepia, amaro, chromatic, nordic, epic, moody, and many more.

Moreover, whenever you select a preset, you may increase or decrease its intensity to match your desired look.

Photo Animation

FlexClip photo animation feature

By clicking the Animation button above the preview window, you access the photo animation feature. This tool lets you create simple animations to add life to your photos and images.

You can select from a variety of photo animation effects, such as zoom in/out and move. You can apply additional animations like wipe, fade, popup, and flip after adding photographs as picture in picture.

Aspect Ratio

FlexClip aspect ratio

FlexClip makes it simple to make videos with various aspect ratios. This allows you to create videos compatible with different platforms or devices.

For example, an aspect ratio of 16:9 is optimal for YouTube, while 1:1 is better for Instagram and Facebook. And if you’re creating videos for Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels, or TikTok, you should select the 9:16 ratio.

You can also upload a finished video to FlexClip and select a different aspect ratio to adjust the video’s aspect ratio to match another platform or device.

Text Animations

FlexClip features a simple and easy-to-use text editor with different properties to select and adjust. For example, you can alter the text’s font, size, color, placement, formatting, and alignment. Even the length of the text display is adjustable, and a real-time preview is available.

FlexClip also offers a few straightforward yet unique text animations. To make the text distinctive and impressive, you can experiment with text editing tools and add your own information to the video.

FlexClip text animation

The software features many text animation presets, including but not limited to dynamic text, wedding titles, social media, lower thirds, birthday titles, broadcasts, badges, promos, comic bubbles, Christmas, and more. In total, you get hundreds of animated presets that you can customize further.

Add Background Music

FlexClip can accommodate all of your needs for adding background music to videos because it allows you to submit a variety of audio files in formats like MP3, WAV, FLAC, and more.

As soon as your audio is uploaded, you can split it just like you’d split an image and change its volume.

This feature can be used to make a music video or enhance a video’s visual impact.

Media Library

One of FlexClip’s strongest selling points is its integration with millions of royalty-free stock assets, such as images, videos, music, and sound effects.

You can find high-quality video clips for every purpose in FlexClip’s media library. All these video footages are royalty-free (provided by Storyblocks), so you have no risk of infringing copyrights.

FlexClip stock video library

Besides royalty-free images and photos, you can also browse through hundreds or thousands of free GIFs.

Your video can have an endless number of background music, loops, and sound effects. These audio tracks have been divided into genres, such as classical, blues, jazz, and many more. You can also search for the music you want based on the mood or instrument you want.

FlexClip music and sound effects

Record Voice-Over

Below the right-bottom corner of the preview window, you will find the voice-over recording feature. To start recording your own voice, simply select the scene you want to add your voice to and press and hold the microphone button.

FlexClip record voice over

By moving the volume slider, you can change your voice-over’s volume to better mix with the background music.

FlexClip voice over volume

If you don’t like your recording, just delete it by pressing the trash can icon and try a new take.

Screen Recording

FlexClip also allows you to record your screen or webcam using your microphone.

FlexClip screen recording

The screen recording feature easily allows you to create tutorials, how-to videos, online courses, software reviews, or many other types of videos.

And instead of uploading them to a third-party video editor, you can make your edits inside the FlexClip video editor.

Desktop App

FlexClip now offers its users a desktop version of its cloud-based software. It’s the same application; however, instead of opening FlexClip on your browser, you can instantly run the app on your computer.

Multiple Language Support

You can change the app into different languages, such as English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese, Chinese (traditional), and Chinese (simplified).

Cloud Storage

Premium users can store their exported video files in a secure and encrypted cloud-storage solution provided by FlexClip that can go as high as 100GB.

Fonts

You can use your own fonts instead of those provided by the video editor. However, this is a premium feature, so if you’re using a free plan, you must upgrade to be able to enjoy this feature.

FlexClip AI Features

Background Remover

Here’s the background remover, just when you thought FlexClip couldn’t possibly offer any more fantastic features.

FlexClip remove background

This AI tool automatically removes the background of a still image. You can also customize it by messing with the Erase and Restore features.

AI Text-to-speech

With this time-efficient solution, you can easily convert any written text into realistic speech within minutes without requiring costly recording equipment or the services of professional voice actors.

By utilizing their 400+ voices in over 140 languages, you can choose the ideal voice to cater to your audience’s preferences.

AI Image Generator

FlexClip AI image generator

Wif the FlexClip AI image generator, you can create new and exciting images for your projects in a blink of an eye.

This unlimited AI art generator lets you choose many art styles like painting, anime, vector art, and more. All you have to do is write a description of what you want, and FlexClip will create the image for you.

You can even choose the aspect ratio from 1:1 and 16:9 to 9:16.

AI Video Script

If you need a video script but don’t have the chops to write one, this feature can!

Just type a brief description of what you want, and let the AI create a video script right in front of your eyes. You can then take it to the AI text-to-video function.

AI Text to Video

This feature lets you transform any script into professional videos, as it fetches relevant pictures and videos that match your text. It also generates scenes for each sentence and also adds background music.

However, this feature is still in beta and is not as powerful as Pictory, for instance.

FlexClip Video Editor: Exporting and Sharing Videos

When you’re done editing your video in the FlexClip editor, hit the Export button to start exporting your video.

FlexClip export video and share link

FlexClip makes it easy to share your videos on social media. You only have to connect your social media accounts and hit the respective button once the file is exported. Saving your files to other cloud-storage devices such as Dropbox and Google Drive is also a breeze.

YouTube Whitelist (Content ID)

Hats off to FlexClip for making the whitelisting process easy.

As many royalty-free music tracks are protected with Content ID (a digital fingerprinting system), getting copyright claims on YouTube has become the norm. Previously, you had to dispute the claim on YouTube and wait for approval while your video was already published (and displaying ads in favor of the copyright owner).

But thanks to this fantastic feature that FlexClip provides to its customers, you can remove the claims automatically before you even publish your videos to YouTube.

What I Like About FlexClip

I must say there are a lot of nice and professional features inside this multi-purpose online video editor. Having said that, I’ll describe the aspects of FlexClip that I like the best below.

  • Unlimited Media Assets – Previously, you had to browse multiple music libraries, image libraries, and stock video websites to find the perfect asset for your video. Then, you’d need to upload those assets to your video editing tool. Fortunately, with FlexClip, you get the whole package.
  • YouTube Whitelist – Getting copyright claims on YouTube is a headache for many content creators. Thanks to the automatic YouTube whitelist feature, you just have to submit your YouTube channel ID to say goodbye to any copyright claim (from the audio you use from FlexClip).
  • Video Templates – You have templates for every taste. You don’t have to spend a tremendous amount of time trying to see what fits best with what. FlexClip templates allow you to make more in less time.
  • Screen Recording – You don’t have to rely solely on stock images and videos. You can record your screen and use it for different types of videos.
  • Voice-Over Recording – There’s no need for third-party audio software to record your own voice. FlexClip’s built-in voice recorder allows you to record your voice easily and add it to your videos.
  • Cloud Storage – Video editors are fully aware of how much disk space video files consume. Fortunately, FlexClip provides a cloud storage solution so you can keep your files secure.

FlexClip is truly an all-in-one solution for video creators. However, not everything is perfect. Next, I list a few areas where improvements could be made.

What I Don’t Like About FlexClip

Having stated what I like about FlexClip, here’s what I believe could improve.

  • Timeline – The timeline is very basic. When adding text to a clip, the text from the first clip disappears from the timeline as soon as you click on another clip. It appears again when you click the text in the preview window (however, this is confusing for more advanced video editors). Besides, you can’t stretch any text layer past the clip where you inserted it. This means that if you want to have the same text across two clips, you can’t. I believe the FlexClip team should address this issue seriously.
  • Limited Assets for the Basic and Plus plans – The Basic plan has access to one stock video and one stock audio, while the Plus plan gets five stock videos and five stock audio tracks. Anyone who has ever created even a small video knows that five shots go by in a flash. Now imagine five stock videos extended for a 10-minute video (how boring!). However, if you’re planning to record your screen and create tutorials and lessons, this might not pose a problem.

FlexClip Review: Conclusion

Despite the few drawbacks I presented above, FlexClip is a great video platform that can help many content creators create many types of videos for different purposes.

With all the great features you get (plus the free tools), FlexClip may very well be an indispensable tool for those who regularly create videos.

If you want to see what FlexClip can do for you, create a free account and start making videos.
